David Kokonchev

David (born 1996; Varna) is a composer, music producer, and conductor working in the fields of cinema and contemporary music. He has worked on numerous short and feature films, theatrical and contemporary dance productions, and concerts. His works find an audience worldwide, on concert and festival stages in Bulgaria, England, Australia, Canada, and the United States. He graduated from the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" with a major in composition, in the class of Prof. Krasimir Taskov. He writes film and contemporary classical music. He has won awards from various international composition competitions and film festivals. In March 2021, his music for the film "Reklaw", recorded with Bulgarian musicians in a Bulgarian studio and conducted by him personally, was performed on the stage of the highly prestigious South By Southwest international film festival in Austin, Texas. Later that year, he won the Audience Award and Third Prize from the jury at the SYNesTHESIS International Composition Competition in Sofia.
