About the show

One day, a fortune teller arrives in a neat Bulgarian village and predicts to the mayor, the priest, and the two most prominent young women that soon a river of gold will flow to them and someone with a delicate trade will help them uncover it... Like all naive people who are short on money, the village's elite quartet falls hard for the bait and frantically begins searching for the photographer Mancho, convinced that he is the man with the delicate trade and will help them quickly get rich. After discovering the mold for making counterfeit money in his photo, the mayor, Father Stanko, Tsveta, and Bosilka are more than sure that Mancho will not refuse to take them as partners in his profitable work. And indeed, when they tell him they have evidence of his criminal activity, Mancho admits to making counterfeit money, but unfortunately cannot help them get rich because he no longer has paper for printing banknotes. In their desire at all costs to benefit from the photographer's gift, the mayor and the priest form a joint-stock company with the aim of raising funds for the paper, which is purchased from Vienna. Almost everyone in the village joins this company, without suspecting that Mancho is a seasoned swindler who will not only bring them to the begging stick but also to the brink of despair. And after they send him off alive and well with a full mattress of money, it doesn't take more than twenty days for a letter to arrive addressed to Penyo the bartender, in which Mancho shares with his friend that he has never seen a "more friendly people" than those in the village and that every single one of them is material for caricatures in some literary newspaper! After this confession by the Fortune Teller-Mancho, the viewers themselves decide whether our daily life is cheerful or sad, and whether they laugh at the play's heroes or at themselves...
