About the show
A monodrama based on the novel by Georgi Karaslavov, seen through the eyes of Gina Yurtalanka. What remains in a house when everyone has left? Silence remains. Things remain. Money, land, sins remain. "The Daughter-in-Law" is the story of a home where everything has a price – land, labor, love, children, even human life. At the center is Yurtalan – the powerful master, obsessed with his property and wealth. But this time, the entire story is seen (and told) through the eyes of Gina – his wife. In this monodrama, a woman goes back – to an ugly and half-forgotten crime, to the wedding, to her sons, to Sevda, to Stoyko's death, and to that moment when the secret can no longer be buried with the dead. Gina is not a judge. Nor is she a victim all the way through. She is a woman who has survived. "The Daughter-in-Law" is a play about silence. About guilt. About the power of property over man. And about a woman who, though late, finds the courage to speak. A mad passion for accumulating property, a child murder – hidden as a dark 10-year-old secret, and blackmail by the daughter-in-law who learned of the crime. The entire dramatic story of a wealthy family, presented by the mother-in-law - Gina Yurtalanka. Monodrama by Rositsa Stoykova based on the eponymous novel by Georgi Karaslavov, seen through the eyes of Gina Yurtalanka.
