The End After You

THE END AFTER YOU by Xavier Dourange is a contemporary play aimed at a young audience, exploring the mechanisms of violence in the context of forming identity and the fear of an uncertain future. The text problematizes how a young person experiences closeness, rejection, and the desire for belonging in a world with shaken moral and social bearings. At the center of the action are six characters whose relationships move between friendship, love, and hostility, gradually escalating to physical and emotional aggression. Violence arises as an internal consequence of the inability to name the affect, of the lack of language for pain, fear, and vulnerability. This is a raw and honest text about growing up, about the fear of abandonment, and about that critical moment when the desire for closeness transforms into an impulse toward destruction.
