About the show
Züskind's protagonist is a musician in love with a young opera diva. His problem is that, although he loves his double bass, he is desperate about its invisibility in the orchestra. Locked alone in the claustrophobic space of his music room, he alternately identifies with his instrument and distinguishes himself from it, seeking to find himself somewhere in the movement between these two poles. He seeks him in a paradoxical and comic way. The play is a rich and varied score for a soloist and double bass, for a human and an instrument, for an actor and an object. Valentin Ganev "plays" this complex part with unexpected nuances and overtones. ASKEER Award 2001, IKAR 2001, and First Prize for Male Role at the National Festival of Small Theatrical Forms in Vratsa, 2001, for Valentin Ganev. First Prize for Direction at the National Festival of Small Theatrical Forms in Vratsa, 2001, and IKAR 2001 for Direction for Plamen Markov. Scenography Award at the Theatre Festival in Blagoevgrad in 2001 and Second Prize for Scenography at the National Festival of Small Theatrical Forms in Vratsa, 2001, for Nevena Beleva.
