About the show
More than 30 years after the end of the story in "How Important It Is to Be Serious", the characters from Oscar Wilde's famous play find themselves again in comical life situations – this time in the sequel written by American playwright Tom Thomas. Now the story of Gwen, Algernon, Cecily, Earnest, Brenda and Willie Dukes unfolds in 1933, when the Great Depression and the Wall Street crash are at their peak, and Hitler comes to power in Germany. And also the bombings, the sorrow for the years gone by, and the brilliant allegory of a lost happy life with empty pots instead of helmets on their heads. The world is collapsing, resembling a burst balloon. The fireworks are impressive, but it is enough to put a pot on your head to feel better again. Especially if that pot fell on your head in which your wife was cooking the wonderful Irish stew. Time passes, the bell rings, but there can always be found strength and desire for one more madness that will give us confidence that life goes on and the enjoyment of it no one can take away from us.
