Golemanov

AND WHO DOESN'T LIKE TO LAUGH? "Golemanov" by St. L. Kostov is one of the most popular Bulgarian plays. Written almost 100 years ago, it appears again and again on the theater poster. The audience seems to know what they will watch, but they go to see it again. It is surely so because a good comedy, in this case – political satire, meets them with a theme that is always present in their lives, but from its funny side. And who doesn't like to laugh? The task we set ourselves with our performance is for this laughter not to be directed at a bystander, but to turn everyone's gaze inward, for irony to become self-irony, because the pursuit of power is inherent in man, motivates his actions and guides him. Where it will lead is a matter of maturity and preserved purity. Therefore, we do not judge the characters, but look at ourselves in them with the hope of understanding them, in order to understand ourselves as well. Laughter helps us discover and accept the truth more easily; it purifies and heals. Stoyan Radev ASKEER 2022 NOMINATION FOR SUPPORTING FEMALE ROLE FOR BOYKA VELKOVA FOR THE ROLE OF GINKA ILIEVA
