About the show

Playwright and actor, author of numerous screenplays for cinema and television, Yves Jamiaque was born on January 30, 1918, in Paris. After his death in 1987, his play "Monsieur Amilcar," first performed on September 25, 1974, at the "Théâtre de Bouffes Parisiens," gained particular fame. Under the title "Everything Is Paid For," the play has not left stages in Europe for twenty years, and above all in Russia, where it enjoys numerous productions and resounding success. In this comedy or tragicomedy, whose genre is undefined by the author, the lonely Mr. Amilcar decides to buy feelings and family happiness, hiring a professional actress as a wife, a street prostitute as a daughter, and a penniless Parisian painter as a friend. The condition is one – no sincere feelings, theater within theater.
